Take Me Higher Than I've Ever Been
Senior Pastor Richard Wong
"The first six months of 2011 have just come and gone. With this year’s church theme, “Take Me Higher”,I have been evaluating where the church is in our growth process. We exhort everyone to draw closer, to grow deeper, to build stronger, and to reach farther. We also encourage everyone to look at our 7 areas of life management– work, family, finance, social, spiritual, physical and personal growth – and ask the Lord to take us higher in some of these areas. If everyone would take time to look back and take stock, where are we now in the Lord? Do we feel and think we have raised another notch of spiritual growth? Are we pursuing God more in every direction that He is leading us to?"

Shifting Sand
Elder Arthur Lee
"The world is changing fast and new ideas are evolving. What we believed yesterday may not be applicable today. Yesterday’s nightmares become today’s reality. Friends will applaud you when you are somebody and will dismiss you when you are nobody. Nothing stays permanent. We are standing on shifting sand."

Walking in Divine Favour
Elder David Tham
"As I made preparation to write this Communiqué, I began to ask the Holy Spirit:‘What are we missing from you to go higher?’He replied, “Let them know that as children of God, I can empower them to walk in divine favour”. Therefore, when you begin to read, start to recall those moments of divine favour upon your lives. Begin to appropriate His Word in every circumstance and by the power of the Holy Spirit, you will experience God’s favour to take you higher in your life. Do not be fearful; just ask boldly for the favour of God."

Building A Church Without Walls
Elder Steven Cheong
"Last year, the Lord stirred within my spirit a burden to see a Canaan church body which would be more integrated and with unity of hearts serving our God. I felt in my spirit that though we have a body of believers, we weren’t that united in spirit. We had a largely local community of believers and foreign believers constituting mainly of Filipinos but interaction was minimal between these two groups."

Take Me Higher by Reaching Farther: Mission Inevitable
Ps Larry Arienzano, Filipino Ministry Pastor
"Have you ever wondered why after we become Christians God did not take us directly to heaven? The answer is that we have an assignment here on earth. We were made for a mission. This mission is not a suggestion to us; it is a requirement for every believer. It is not a mission impossible because the Holy Spirit will empower us. It is a mission inevitable!"

Seedtime and Harvest
Ps Brian Wong, Youth & Worship Pastor
"Sowing and reaping is both a natural and spiritual law that God had established in the physical world and the spiritual world. This is an unchangeable law that affects everyone in every arena of our lives - Family, Finance, Physical, Personal Growth, Social, Spiritual, or Work."

Canaan 2011 - Take Me Higher
Senior Pastor Richard Wong
"Blessed New Year 2011! It is my privilege to declare to you the revelation of the Lord for this year’s church theme – TAKE ME HIGHER! Last year, we had been impressed continuously the importance of resting in the presence of the Lord so that what we do comes from the Lord’s heart desire and not from our own."
