Canaan On-site Service
(Phase 3 Re-opening w.e.f. 17 January 2021)
When we gather together as Christians today, we are essentially doing 2 things:
First, we glorify King Jesus together. We praise Him and listen to His Word together. Second, we build one another up as a community. We spur one another on to keep on living for King Jesus as we press forward to that Day.
In short, we believe a physical gathering not only better reflects that future Revelation 21-22 gathering… it is also God’s way of encouraging us to keep going together as a community till we get to the end!
We are excited to be able to accommodate 150 pax for our on-site service

Frequently Asked Questions
1. Why can’t I just stay home to watch the online church service as before?
God’s ultimate plan, which we see in Revelation 21-22, is for his people to be restored and gathered around King Jesus. That is what we’re looking forward to and what our physical gatherings now are a foretaste of: Real people in a real place gathered around a real King. When we gather together as Christians today, we are essentially doing 2 things: First, we glorify King Jesus together. We praise Him and listen to His Word together. Second, we build one another up as a community. We spur one another on to keep on living for King Jesus as we press forward to that Day. In short, we believe a physical gathering not only better reflects that future Revelation 21-22 gathering….it is also God’s way of encouraging us to keep going together as a community till we get to the end! 2. Why are we meeting physically in 150 pax even though we can’t sing or mingle in large groups? While we may not be able to sing and mingle in large groups, there is the opportunity to encourage others and be encouraged in return by our corporate commitment to glorify God together. We also want to encourage those attending to make full use of the post-service time to lunch together with others so that mutual building up can happen! 3. Who should attend the on-site service? We encourage everyone to come! The allowable 150 pax does not include all who are supporting the on-site service such as pastors, ushers, cash counters, Sunday school teachers, worship team. Therefore we will be able to have all back. 4. Why do I need to register to attend the on-site service? Everyone who is attending must register so that we are able to track actual numbers attending to avoid going over the allowable limit. It also aids the ushers in guiding you to the right zone when you come. We may have to lovingly turn you away if you are not registered and if we do not have enough capacity. 5. Can I cancel the registration last minute if something crops up? That is not a problem at all. Please log in to Reopen Church Portal to de-register. In the portal you will see the zone which indicate “You have registered for this event”, click the box and select “Remove Registration” so that it can free up your seat for others who may be on wait-list. 6. What should I do if I’m feeling unwell over the weekend and I have registered to attend the on-site service? Oh dear. Please stay at home and rest! If you can, please de-register at Reopen Church Portal (follow the steps in question 5) or inform the pastors so that we can free up your seat! |
7. What if there is no seats available for that week?
If the quota of 150 is full, join the wait-list and you will be notified when one is available. If not, please tune into the live-stream online service that Sunday. 8. If I have elderly parents, should I bring them to the on-site service? We understand that there will be some concerns among the vulnerable groups. While we encourage everyone to continue meeting physically, we will also leave it to the individual’s discretion on whether the elderly individual should come. 9. I have children below the age of 3, is the nursery room available? Or can I bring them into the main hall? We are so excited to have little ones back in church. The nursery room will be made available but during this period, maximum only 5 pax in the room. Do register yourself and your child. It is essential that a parent accompanies the child in the nursery room and to observe safe distancing with others who are co-sharing the nursery room. 10. Is there children Sunday school if I wish to bring my family to church? Yes! We are so excited to have kids back in church so we will have children Sunday school. Our Sunday school will cater from the ages of 4 to 12 years old. Do register yourself and your child so that our Sunday school teachers know you are coming that week! 11. If I have a guest who wants to attend the onsite service, how can I register for them? That is such great news! You can either ask them to register on their own at Reopen Church Portal or you can help them with the registration. 12. Can I park my car in church? Yes you can. But it will be on a 1st-come-1st-served basis. Only occupy the sheltered lots on the left side when you drive in. Do note however that the 1st lot nearest to the noticeboards will be out of bounds to allow adequate working space for our ushers who are assisting attendees into the building safely. If all sheltered lots are taken, kindly park your vehicles at the nearby HDB parking lots. 13. Will I be able to give my tithes and offering (cash and cheque) physically? E-giving is still the preferred mode. However, physical offerings boxes are placed in front of the main hall if you would like to give cash/cheque before or at the end of the service. 14. How will the communion elements be distributed? Collect your pre-packed communion elements on Level 4 or Level 1 on the way to your seat as you enter. Keep them with you and wait for instructions from the communion leader when to partake together. |
